Our last WoodLink extra larger cedar bird feeder lasted over 21 years! We did seal it a few times during that period, which certainly contributed to the longevity. When it finally rotted to beyond repair, we looked for a WoodLink replacement and decided to go with this recycled plastic feeder, which should never need sealed. It was constructed just like the old feeder and we are super happy with the quality. Please be aware that WoodLink makes a shorter version of this feeder called the Going Green Extra Large Premier Feeder (extra large v. tall hopper). Both hold 10 pounds of seed, which significantly reduces the number of times that you need to fill it. Wildbirdstoreonline.com does not sell the shorter version.
